Disney Genie+, Disney’s FastPass replacement, has been in service for a few months now. During Disney’s first-quarter earnings call yesterday, the company shared an update on the new Disney Genie+ program. According to Disney, more guests are using the service.

Disney Genie+ allows guests to skip the regular standby line through a Lightning Lane. The program is similar to the former FastPass system but costs $15 per person per day. Also, the most popular rides require a separate purchase in order to use the Lightning Lane.
Disney reported yesterday that more than 1/3 of domestic guests purchased Disney Genie+, Individual Attraction Selection, or both during their visit this past quarter.

Disney Genie+ has been a controversial service. Many guests are upset at having to pay for access to the new Lightning Lanes and they miss the old FastPass system. There have also been complaints with how Genie+ works (or doesn’t work).
Even with the complaints and issues, it seems a lot of guests are purchasing Genie+ especially with crowds increasing.
