Monorail system to close during non peak times for maintenance in early 2014

Hiya boys and girls! It is I, Anonymouse, back with some more Disney Gossip. My sources tell me that the Walt Disney World Monorail system will be closing during non-peak periods in early 2014. Yup, that’s right, folks, The Monorail will be CLOSED!

Starting January 21, 2014, the Magic Kingdom Resort and Magic Kingdom Express Beams will be closed on weekdays between 11:30 am and 7:00 pm for maintenance. The work is expected to be ongoing through the end of March 2014. The monorail to Epcot WILL NOT be affected.

Don’t fret, Walt Disney World Resort & Parks will provide additional buses and watercraft during this scheduled maintenance.

So if you plan on travel during this time frame, plan accordingly.
