When Disney originally shared news of the update we got to see concept art of what Miguel and Dante would look like as “it’s a small world” characters. With the new image released, we’re glad to see the characters are much more vibrant than the concept art portrayed.

The newly added Miguel figure is depicted in his iconic red and gold Mariachi attire, clutching the very guitar that once belonged to Ernesto de la Cruz in “Coco.” Beside him, Dante appears in his vibrant and colorful alebrije form, showcasing his fantastical appearance.

The beloved “it’s a small world” attraction, initially set to reopen on April 25th and subsequently delayed to May 9th, is now officially confirmed to welcome guests once again today, Tuesday, May 13th, as per the Disneyland website.

Adding a vibrant new layer to the “it’s a small world” experience, the attraction’s iconic facade will become the canvas for “Tapestry of Happiness,” a specially created projection show commemorating Disneyland’s 70th anniversary. This nightly spectacle will immerse guests in a dynamic display of light, music, and projection effects, weaving together “an animated mosaic of Disneyland attractions, moments and memories.” The visual presentation of “Tapestry of Happiness” is inspired by the distinctive artistic style of Disney legend Mary Blair, the visionary behind the original design of “it’s a small world.” The show’s soundtrack will feature the official 70th-anniversary theme song, “Celebrate Happy,” and thoughtfully incorporate recognizable musical motifs from Disneyland’s extensive history.

Are you excited to see the “Coco” characters added to “it’s a small world”?
