Midship Detective Agency on the Disney Dream

Midship Detective Agency on the Disney Dream

My family and I were discussing all of the fun activities we experienced during our recent cruise on the Disney Dream, and we all agreed that the Midship Detective Agency was one of the best. It is a fun family activity as well as a way to sneak in a little exercise during a fun day at sea. There are two different games offered at the Midship Detective Agency: a whodunit case in which you discover the Disney Villain who stole valuable Disney paintings, and a search for the missing puppies. We participated in the whodunit version but we all wish we had made time to do both.

To play the game, you are given the Detective Casebook (shown above). It includes a Crime Scene Map (ship diagram) and a list of Disney Villains with descriptions to help you rule out suspects as you go along.

It also comes with an Agent Badge for the players. One side shows your Agent ID badge and the other has a special hidden code that you hold up to the appropriate paintings onboard the ship to reveal clues.

The paintings come to life when you hold the badge in front of them and, searched in succession and using the clues provided, you rule-out suspects until you are left with the one you feel is the culprit.

This was a really fun game, and a wonderful activity families can do together. It is not only fun for young ones as our group was two parents, a nineteen year old girl and an 18 year old boy and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s great fun and is offered all day from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to do at your leisure. If you are planning to cruise with Disney Cruise Lines soon, be sure to check out the Midship Detective Agency.
