Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is Festive Family Fun

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is festive family fun at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.  Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with your family and friends in the most magical place on Earth. To kick off the Christmas season this year, I brought my family to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to create some unforgettable holiday memories.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Welcome

The party officially kicks off at 7 pm, but the welcome starts at 4 pm.  Guests can get the party wristbands at the entrance of Magic Kingdom or various locations throughout the park.  Also, Disney Vacation Club members can receive their wristbands starting at 2 pm.  Head through the walkway next to Tony’s Town Square and take some Christmas-inspired photos and get your Santa Mickey sugar cookie.

Festive Photopass

Whether in the welcome walkway or throughout the park,  be sure to stop at the different photopass locations to capture all the holiday magic (including magic shots) with your family.  I love photopass because I finally get to be in the family photos instead of behind the camera!

Festive Attractions/Rides

Everybody sing “Jingle Cruise, Jingle Cruise, Jingle All the Way!”  Nothing puts my family in the holiday spirit like our favorite ride at Christmas – Jingle Cruise.  We love all the Christmas decorations and the jokes! Not to mention, enjoy very short wait times around the park for your favorite rides.

Festive Holiday Treats

Did somebody say free Christmas Cookies and hot cocoa?! Look for the giant light-up peppermint sticks all around the Magic Kingdom to signal a free treat stop! It never ceases to amaze me how many cups of cocoa and cookies my kids can eat. I love the snowman pretzel at Tortuga Tavern. My son also LOVES the sno-cone (Auntie Gravity’s/Tortuga Tavern) and Mickey’s Very Merry Berry slush ($5.99) at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Let’s not forget about that holiday burger ($14.99) at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe; my husband gobbled that right up!

Festive Shows

  • Frozen Holiday Wish

If you have a kid that is Frozen obsessed like our toddler, do not miss the Frozen Holiday Wish at 6:15 pm and 8 pm.  My husband and I loved watching our daughter light up watching her favorite characters from Frozen turn Cinderella’s Castle into a winter wonderland. Another great show is Mickey’s Merriest Celebration on the castle stage.  Mickey and the gang sing and dance to all the holiday favorites with beautiful castle projections. Also if you are in Tomorrowland, check out The Edge Effect acapella group and a Totally Tomorrowland Christmas show.

Festive Dance Parties

  • Jingle Jam

If you have a Disney Junior fan in your family, then head over to Jingle Jam in Storybook Circus.  My daughter danced the night away with her favorite characters – Vampirina and Doc McStuffins. Also, check out Club Tinsel at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe as Santa’s Reindeer and Elves dance the night away with the party guests.

Festive Character Meet n Greets

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is Festive Family Fun

My son and I took a quick trip to Zootopia to visit with some of our favorite characters – Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde.  You can find them in Tomorrowland.  Keep a lookout throughout the park for other merry character meet and greets like Santa Goofy, Snow White & the Seven Dwarves, and Mary Poppins & Burt.

Festive Parade – Once Upon a Christmastime

Watching your kids’ eyes twinkle when the snow falls on Main Street USA as their favorite characters “float” by is what it is all about.  Also, the parade floats smell amazing like fresh balsam and gingerbread which adds another layer to the magic. Our family favorite part of the parade is the marching toy soldiers. Just remember to get a spot early for either the 8:30 pm or 11 pm parade.

Overall Thoughts

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is Festive Family Fun

There is nothing quite like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Capture the holiday spirit with your family this holiday season. My husband and I savored all the little moments with the kids, like watching their eyes light up watching Cinderella’s castle transform or smiling ear to ear every time they got another Christmas cookie.  Thank you Walt Disney World, for letting this mom and dad create priceless memories with our children.
