Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Opening Night Review

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party kicked off a bit early this year on August 25th 2017.  While many will say it is way too early for Halloween, we say Bring It On!  Here is our Review of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Opening Night.

Even before you enter the Magic Kingdom, you will find Halloween photo-ops.  Be sure to stop and begin building your memories!

Cast Members are available upon entry to the Magic Kingdom with event bands and maps.  We always love interacting with the Cast Members because they are the ones who make the Magic happen!

Characters abound all around the park.  Moana made her debut  in the Magic Kingdom Park during opening night of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Party-goers in costume are great fun to spot.  We are always amazed at the creativity we see with so many of the costumes.  Creativity runs rampant for what folks come up with for costumes.  The Tombstone group featuring Wishes, The Great Movie Ride and Universe of Energy was quite innovative yet easy to make.  You just need an idea to guide you towards the design of your very own unique costume.

The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular is a show that is not to be missed!  The music and presentation are phenomenal.

Halloween Specialty Treats are available.  They only come around for a short period of time each year so this is your opportunity to pick  your favorites and give them a try.  We always love to check out the Specialty Cupcakes and this year you can enjoy a Pumpkin Cheesecake Dome.

No Halloween Party can be complete without the opportunity to Trick-or-Treat.  Treat Stations are located throughout the park.  Be prepared to completely fill the bag they give you.

If you have food allergies you can pick up a special teal allergy-friendly treats bag.  You can find these at the Heritage House and on Main Street at Guest Relations.  You can choose to get a teal plastic coin at the Treat Stations, or pick up all the treats on offer from the above listed locations.  We love that Disney recognizes the need to provide something extra special for those with food allergies.

Nick Wilde and Judy Hops have their own mini parade complete with music and dancing.  You can see them right after the ride of The Headless Horseman and just before the Mickey’s Boo To You Parade.  They make a couple of stops along Main Street U.S.A to dance along to music.

We would be remiss if we did not express our undying love for the Popcorn Buckets.  The Halloween Bucket is adorable and the bright orange lid is perfect to bring along for trick-or-treating.  Put some glow cubes or a lighted flashlight inside for a cool and eery effect.  We adore the 2017 MNNSHP Specialty Bucket.  The Mickey Jack-o-lantern is adorable and the green and purple strap make it easy to carry around the parks.  This also makes a perfect trick-or-treat bucket.

The Halloween decor around the Magic Kingdom is absolutely fantastic.  When it gets dark, the park comes alive with glowing lights and fun Halloween music.

Do not forget to have the Disney Photographers capture you in some really eery PhotoPass Magic Shots.  You never know what could turn up on your My Disney Experience app!

Be sure to stop by the Haunted Mansion to meet Madame Carlotta.

If you are wondering whether or not you can justify the cost of the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party the answer  is,”Yes!”  The parade, shows, character greets, PhotoPass Magic Shots and festive atmosphere make the cost very worthwhile.   We love what Disney does with this Event.  Each year there is something new on offer, thus keeping the Event interesting.  Even if you can only do this party one time, you will be so glad that you were able to experience the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
