Disneyland has released more information about the new Disney Vacation Club tower that is coming to the Disneyland Hotel. A new pool will be included in the project called Mickey’s Ink & Paint Pool.
This new Mickey Mouse-themed interactive water feature was revealed in blueprints and renderings designed by Walt Disney Imagineering as part of an Anaheim Planning Commission report. The 2,400-square-foot pool features a larger swimming area along with a smaller interactive water play area divided by a trellis above the pool area lined with lounge chairs.
Water jets will squirt arching sprays that appear to “paint” red, yellow, and black ink splats in the shape of an abstract Mickey Mouse on the bottom of the pool.
There is no exact name for this pool yet but is being dubbed the “Ink & Paint” pool. Disneyland only refers to it as an interactive water feature or an interactive wet play area.
Previous plans submitted to the city included a three-circle Mickey Mouse-shaped hot tub that is no longer featured in the latest plans.
The proposed opening for this DVC tower is 2023 but could be pushed back due to the coronavirus closure.
