The “Mickey: The True Original Exhibition” opens next month in New York City, and the line-up of participating artists is amazing!
In celebration of Mickey’s 90th birthday, the exhibition will feature Mickey-inspired art from some very inspiring artists. Before the exhibition opens in New York on November 8, three different pop-up presentations will take place. Artist Amanda Ross-Ho will present her huge classic Mickey ringer t-shirt in Chicago. Kenny Scharf will present his Mickey Mouse wristwatch-inspired “Cosmic Cavern” in San Francisco.
In Los Angeles, artist Shinique Smith will showcase her bale sculpture. It’s called “Bale Variant No. 0026, Ode to Mickey Mouse, My First Love,” and we think it’s pretty impressive! Don’t you?
The Exhibition runs from November 8 to February 10, 2019 in New York City. Tickets cost $38. See Mickey-inspired art using multiple different media, include oil paints, fabric, textiles, watercolor and more. There will even be an artist dressed in a custom Mickey Mouse costume while he draws for an audience. Check out this complete list of contributing artists:
