Even since the Disney Fox deal was announced at the end of last year, there have been questions as to how the Fox assets would fit in with Disney.
Thanks to a deal with between “Deadpool” star, Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort and Fox, we may have just gotten our first clue!
According to Deadline, Fox has made a three-year first look deal with Reynolds’ Maximum Effort to create projects for the studio. And it looks like the first film that will be produced is a live-action feature based on the Hasboro board game, “Clue”.
Maximum Effort will produce alongside Allspark Pictures, the film division of Hasbro. As far as the writing goes, Fox is currently working to reunite Reynolds with the writers of the first “Deadpool” film, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
Reynolds is set to star in the film.
A deal with Maximum Effort is huge for Fox as “Deadpool” is the studios highest grossing film since “AVATAR.” “Deadpool” brought in $783 million worldwide and made the film the highest grossing R-rated film of all time.
The untitled “Deadpool” sequel will be released by the studio on May 18th.
