Chris Pratt Confirms Marvel Will Use James Gunn’s Script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. During a recent interview, Chris Pratt has confirmed that the script penned by James Gunn, will still be used for the filming of Guadians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Marvel Studios fired James Gunn in 2018 after a series of his tweets, written in poor taste, resurfaced on twitter causing months of debate online. Some fans stood by Gunn since he had publicly apologized for his previous use of speech from before he had “matured” and expanded his mind to think more about what he is saying rather than knee jerk reactions or responses. Other fans believe the firing was justifiable since Disney tends to keep a publicly clean profile. Marvel ultimately decided to relieve Gunn of his position in Marvel Studios and they have been searching for a new director ever since.

When asked if he had read the script, Pratt stated:”Yeah I have. It’s off the chain. It’s so good. It’s SO good.” We always knew he was a punny guys, but Chris referred to the script as “Off the Chain” which is the title of one of the featured songs from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Very funny, Chris. I definitely chuckled at that one.
Chris was also asked about how he felt doing Guardians without James as the director. “Well… I love James. I’m loyal to James and love him so much. And… we’re gonna, we’re gonna deliver the movie, we’re gonna, we’re gonna give the fans what they deserve.” Chris claimed, “And I think it’s in the nature of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” to come together and get the job done. And, uh, that’s what we’ll do.”
While there is still much debate about who will direct, it appears Marvel Studios is impressed enough with Gunn’s work on the script that they will continue moving forward with production for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as planned.
