Marvel Studios ‘Loki‘ Series Resumes Filming for Disney+. Recently, series star Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Beauty and the Beast, Black Mirror) spoke with Forbes to discuss her role in Misbehavior and shared that filming has resumed for the new Marvel Studios Loki series coming soon to Disney+. It is currently unknown who Gugu will be playing in the series, but Mbatha-Raw did share with Forbes that the series has resumed production in Atlanta, GA. She added that despite the set backs from the COVID-19 pandemic she is very excited to be back on set with her fellow cast mates and her growing excitement for audiences to get to see what the God of Mischief has been up to since his disappearance in Avengers: Endgame.
“I’m obviously sworn to secrecy about everything to do with Loki, but it feels great to be back,” Gugu Mbatha-Raw teases. “Everyone is trying to do it as safely as possible under the circumstances, and it feels good. I’m excited. It’s a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see it.”
Loki will star Tom Hiddleston as Loki, alongside Marvel newcomers, Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Richard E. Grant. The first season of Loki will contain 6 cinematic style episodes. Neither Disney or Marvel Studios have shared active plans for additional seasons, but the series has not been deemed a limited-series at the time of writing. Loki is expected to premiere on Disney+ at a to-be-determined date in 2021 due to production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
