Production is officially underway on Marvel Studios’ Echo, which is coming to Disney+ in 2023.
Production is underway in Atlanta on Marvel Studios’ “Echo,” a series streaming exclusively on Disney+ in 2023. Alaqua Cox (“Hawkeye”) stars as the unforgiving Maya Lopez, who made her MCU debut in 2021 in Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye” as a deaf gang leader who was determined to make Ronin aka Clint Barton pay for his own vengeful deeds.
The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward. “Echo” also stars Chaske Spencer (“Wild Indian,” “The English”), Tantoo Cardinal (“Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Stumptown”), Devery Jacobs (FX’s “Reservation Dogs,” “American Gods”) and Cody Lightning (“Hey, Viktor!” “Four Sheets to the Wind”), with Graham Greene (“1883,” “Goliath”) and Zahn McClarnon (“Dark Winds,” FX’s “Reservation Dogs”).

According to the Illuminerdi, writers Ken Kristensen (The Punisher) and Dara Resnik (Daredevil) will be joining writing the Echo writing duo Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen to pen the scripts for the Echo series coming soon to Disney+. The upcoming show will star Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez/Echo and follow Maya’s story following the events of Hawkeye and her departure from Kingpin and the Track Suit Mafia.
Daredevil and Kingpin
Last December, Marvel surprised viewers by reintroducing two significant characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Daredevil and Kingpin.
We’ve seen Matt Murdock return to our screens in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and then Wilson Fisk appearing as the main villain in the Hawkeye Disney+ series. However, fans are questioning when we might see Daredevil and Kingpin appear again in the MCU. We recently reported how a crew member’s resume mentions costume design work for both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. Even though nothing is officially confirmed yet, fans are hopeful to see both characters in Echo!
