Earlier this week during a panel on Pixar at the Austin Film Festival, Mary Coleman, senior development executive for Pixar, announced that Marti Noxon (former writer for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Mad Men”) has joined the Pixar Family.
Though Noxon has never worked in animation before, she has made Disney happy in the past with her script for last year’s “Fright Night” and she also helped out at the last-minute on the script for “I am Number Four”.
Pixar has previously made some questionable choices by dismissing Brenda Chapman who had directed “The Prince of Egypt” and her very personal project “Brave”. Pixar had replaced her with Mark Andrews (co-writer for “John Carter”) claiming that she had remained at the company in an advisory role (later they announced she had permanently left the company for a new role at LucasFilm Animation).
Any upcoming projects for Noxon have not been announced yet but the news is worth mentioning and upcoming projects should be exciting!

I am Number 4 wasn’t very good but the other things she has worked on were so I expect she will be a good addition.
