The Hall of Presidents originally closed back in January of this year to add newly-elected President Trump and to receive an overall update. The attraction finally reopened this week. Much controversy surrounded The Hall of Presidents while it was closed for it’s refurbishment and many speculated if/when it would reopen.
The controversy didn’t die down once The Hall of Presidents reopened on Tuesday. Many took to Twitter saying Trump’s animatronic was poorly done and looks nothing like him. Some compared the animatronic to looking more like Hillary Clinton than the President himself.
I’m like 90% sure they made a Clinton robot then got surprised Trump won and just put a Trump wig on the Cinton bot. pic.twitter.com/bpK99zzbrF

Here me out on this. Clearly Disney had Hilary’s robot ready to go and then they had to try and make it look like Trump. Don’t hate me. This is just a necessary and painful fact we all need to deal with. pic.twitter.com/biSirfwE59

Others compared the animatoric to looking like actor Jon Voight and even being the re-imagined Ellen animatronic from the now-closed Universe of Energy ride at Epcot.
Disney has not released an official statement addressing people’s concerns on how the President looks but previously said they used the ‘latest technology’ to bring to life “more lifelike” movements and the president actually recorded the dialogue.
