The long awaited sequel to the original 2014 feature film, “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” is days away from coming to theaters. We got to sit in on the global press conference to learn more about “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil“.
The panel consisted of actors: Angelina Jolie, Michelle Pfieffer, Elle Fanning, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ed Skrein, Harris Dickinson, Sam Riley, and director Joachim Ronning. After introductions the panel discussed what items they wanted to take home from the set. Angelina Jolie said that she did end up taking home her iconic staff. Sam Riley talked about how he kept some of his raven feathers, and would send them through fan mail.
Jolie then opened up about how being a mother has helped shape her role of the mother figure to Elle Fanning’s Aurora. She explains how even though they’re different creatures from different places, there is still an unbreakable bond between them. Fanning also shares how her and Miss Jolie have a connection off camera as well. Behind the scenes they have ping pong matches!
Director, Joachim Ronning, explained how he took inspiration for this film from all aspects of nature. The natural elements in this film are truly stunning. Even down to the juxtaposition of nature and costume.
Maleficent’s costume was also on display. She expressed how the bone collar gave her some trouble. She said that the bones would often flip upwards and hit her in the face!
Overall, this Disney feature film is a story of family, togetherness, and sacrifice. We can’t wait for all of you to see this film! “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” debuts nationwide in theaters on October 18.
