Disney has been working on TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom for years now. The attraction was first announced in 2017 and has hit multiple delays including the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally we all hoped the attraction would be done in time for the 50th anniversary celebration but sadly, that won’t be the case.

However, in a recent podcast interview, Magic Kingdom Vice President Melissa Valiquette shared an update on TRON Lightcycle Run. She also shared that she has even sat on a Lightcycle!
“I have sat on the TRON Lightcycles here in Florida and it was spectacular. I tell you what, just sitting on that Lightcycle…it was a thrill and it didn’t go anywhere. You know, I was sitting on a wooden box on a Lightcycle and I still felt like it was thrilling.”

The Lightcycle vehicles have a motorcycle shape and will nearly put people flat on their stomachs, which Valiquette believes will add to the thrill of the new ride.
Valiquette believes the ride will be extremely popular but she was not able to give an exact opening date or time frame. Hopefully TRON Lightcycle Run will finally be able to open in 2022!
