Contactless screening

Well, it looks like Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is last to join in on the contactless party, but they’ve finally introduced those new scanners! Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and even Disney Springs have been using Evolv touchless scanners to screen guests for a while. Now the set is complete!

The new scanners are great to keep crowds moving through security. They claim to be ten times faster than any other security system, scanning up to sixty people every minute.

The scanners have been placed at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and ports of entry for resort guests. They remove the need for most bag searches and are less likely to be set off for no reason than other metal detectors. Security guards will simply ask you whether you are carrying any metal bottles, cans, or umbrellas before waving you through, bag and all.

No one misses the long lines at security. While we can all appreciate the timeliness of walking into the parks now, we can also appreciate the safety. Gone are the days of having someone you don’t know touching everything you’re carrying with you. No chance of one guest carrying in germs to every guest that that security guard sees after them. Contactless seems like the way of the future.

Have you tried the new scanners yet? There are lots of reasons to love these new additions to the Walt Disney World experience. Because getting into the parks should be as simple and magical as possible.
