Mads Mikkelsen is so good at being bad we are repeatedly watching him steal the most villainous roles in Hollywood. His most recent film to release in theaters, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore sees Mikkelsen as the new Grindelwald and in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mads shared a little insight into his upcoming film “Indiana Jones 5“.

Mads did share that the new film will callback to the first two Indy films, telling THR, “[Raiders of the Lost Ark] was one of my favorite films, and it just oozed that golden period of serials from the 1940s — and that’s in the fifth film as well. They’re going heavily back to the first and second film and getting that original feel, the original Indy, something dense and epic.”
He also shared how James Mangold taking over for Steven Spielberg has not taken away from Spielberg’s style saying, “It felt like a Spielberg film, though it’s obviously James making it with the same vision.”

Mikkelsen also shared how it felt to meet Harrison Ford when filming began for the 5th Indiana Jones movie, telling THR, “It was the first time I met him, and he’s an insanely powerful person. Not just as an actor, but physically. I remember the first day we were shooting, it was a night shoot, then we stopped at 5 a.m. — and then he got on his mountain bike and went biking for 50 kilometers [31 miles]. Harrison is a monster of a man, a very nice monster.”
Currently, the untitled Indiana Jones 5 film is scheduled to premiere on June 30, 2023. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Company for updates and all things Lucasfilm!
