A very merry unbirthday to all of us! The Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom is looking great after receiving a paint job to freshen up the exterior. The bright colors help enhance the fun aesthetic of the Mad Tea Party.
The Mad Tea Party is inspired by Walt Disney’s 1955 classic, Alice in Wonderland. The original attraction is still in Disneyland Park and this version is an exact copy of the ride. But there is one notable difference in that our version features a rooftop above the attraction. The ride features giant pastel cups, reminiscent of those the Mad Hatter uses at his party in the film. The cups spin guests around until everyone is dizzy.

Painting continues of the roofs in Fantasyland, as Disney World preps for the 50th Anniversary. We were on hand this week at the Magic Kingdom to check out any progress that has been made.
Beginning Oct. 1, Walt Disney World Resort will throw “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” in honor of our 50th anniversary, bringing new experiences to our four theme parks and beyond. This milestone is such a big deal, we’ve even coined a new word – “EARidescence” – to describe what you’ll see when you visit. The Disney teams are creating all sorts of new decorations that will shimmer and sparkle all day and into the night.
