Director Angus MacLane took to Twitter this week to share his opinion on why Disney-Pixar’s latest film, Lightyear, has performed so poorly at the box office and received negative reviews from critics online.
MacLane responded to a question online by Twitter user @sherelleigh which asked, “Naythan and I loved Lightyear, I dunno why it has such low reviews on IMDb??” The Director’s response was: “Short answer: much like the second chapter of THE HOBBIT, it mainly has to do with trolls“

Currently, Disney-Pixar’s Lightyear has earned approximately $193.5 Million globally according to BoxOfficeMojo and at the time of writing has a 5.3/10 rating on IMDb. However, on Rotten Tomatoes the film has a surprisingly certified fresh rating of 75% by critics and an 85% score by audiences.
