Woody Makes Surprise Cameo in Levi’s Super Bowl Ad
Marking their first Super Bowl appearance in over two decades, Levi’s aired a bold new spot celebrating the “view from behind.” The commercial showcased a montage of denim-clad backsides, featuring global icons and a surprise cameo from the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the West—Toy Story’s Sheriff Woody.

Sheriff Woody makes a “cheeky” appearance early in the commercial, sporting a pair of jeans complete with the iconic red Levi’s tab. Titled “Backstory,” the high-profile spot marks a major milestone for the brand as their first Super Bowl advertisement to hit the airwaves in over 20 years.

Sheriff Woody’s high-fashion debut shouldn’t come as a total shock to fans; it follows a major collaboration from last fall where Levi’s, Disney, and Pixar joined forces for a 30th-anniversary Toy Story collection. This Western-inspired line added a playful touch to classic denim, featuring specialized character patches at the hem for a lineup that included Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Bullseye, Rex, and the Aliens.
