Level99 Confirms Location at Disney Springs West Side, Taking Over Former NBA Experience Space

Big news for Disney Springs fans: Level99 is officially heading to the West Side of Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida! After rumors surfaced recently, Level99 has now confirmed they’ll be opening their very first Florida outpost at Disney Springs. This newest addition marks the company’s fifth location and continues its rapid expansion across the country.

Notably, the Disney Springs West Side neighborhood is the same area where the former NBA Experience was located—further solidifying the speculation that Level99 will be taking over that space. Level99 will occupy the old NBA Experience building, all signs point to that location being the new home for this immersive attraction.

A Next-Level Entertainment Concept

What is Level99? For those new to the concept, Level99 is a cutting-edge, interactive entertainment experience featuring challenge rooms, art installations, and craft food and drink offerings. It’s backed by Act III Holdings, the investment group founded by Panera Bread founder and current CAVA Chairman Ron Shaich.

From the moment you step inside, you’re immersed in creative, high-energy challenges—think of it as a fusion of escape rooms, puzzle-solving, and physical obstacle courses. Teams of 2-6 players can test their brains and brawn in over 50 (and soon to be 60+ for the Disney Springs location) unique challenge rooms and arena duels.

Chosen by Disney, Built by Innovators

Disney carefully selected Level99 for Disney Springs after conducting a thorough review of the location-based entertainment industry. Matthew DuPlessie, Level99’s CEO and Founder, has significant experience in creating immersive attractions. With an engineering degree from MIT and an MBA from Harvard, DuPlessie designed Level99 to bring “challenge rooms” into the mainstream, blending mental and physical tests in a way that appeals to a wide range of guests.

“After spending two decades in the location-based entertainment industry, it became clear there was consumer demand for a concept like this – a real unmet need,” DuPlessie said. “Our vision is to make ‘challenge rooms’ a mainstream concept, and the opportunity to open at a marquee location like Disney Springs is the next step in our plans to expand the Level99 brand nationally.”

Level99’s expansion is already in full swing. After establishing a strong presence in New England, the company plans to open new locations in Tysons Corner, Virginia, and West Hartford, Connecticut in 2025. However, the Disney Springs venue will be their biggest location to date:

  • 45,000+ square feet spread over two floors
  • Over 60 challenge rooms and duels (a new record for Level99!)
  • Capacity to host over 1,000 players at once
  • A two-story bar serving handcrafted cocktails, local beer, and a chef-crafted menu featuring their signature, award-winning Detroit-style pizza
