The OC Register is reporting that less than half of Disneyland’s cast members have returned to work. Before the pandemic Disneyland employed 32,000 cast members but only 15,000 are currently working.

The Disneyland Resort theme parks were closed for over a year due to the pandemic and state regulations. Disneyland laid off or furloughed thousands of cast members during the pandemic closure.
Disneyland officials say they expect to hire 1,000 cast members this summer.

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure have not returned to full capacity and are still reopening in phases. Disney CEO Bob Chapek said last month he expects the US theme parks to return to full capacity this fall. As more offerings return to the Disneyland Resort, more cast members will return to work.
