LEGOLAND Beach Retreat Celebrates Construction Milestone as The Lighthouse Shines for the First Time

The beacon of LEGOLAND® Florida Resort’s second on-site accommodations has arrived. When LEGOLAND Beach Retreat opens in mid-2017, The Lighthouse will tower more than 45 feet over the first-of-its-kind vacation resort, a centrally located icon that will be home to a restaurant, pool bar and a giant sandcastle-themed LEGO® building area for kids.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort recently celebrated a key construction milestone by lighting the rotating, energy-efficient LED light inside the red-and-white striped tower for the first time on a recent evening.

Meanwhile, new details about LEGOLAND Beach Retreat were revealed today, including restaurant names and guest amenities. Sandy’s Castle Restaurant will feature a bountiful menu of creative cuisine designed to please the palates of kids and grownups alike. A delicious breakfast is included with each night’s stay at LEGOLAND Beach Retreat; lunch and dinner will be available without reservations.

At Brick’s Beach Bar, guests can choose from a menu of made-to-order food, drinks and creative cocktails served both poolside and indoors. Nearby, savvy shoppers will find the perfect souvenir at a large retail shop stocked with LEGO building sets, apparel, toys, swimwear, snacks and sundries.

Beyond The Lighthouse, construction continues on schedule for the site’s eagerly awaited debut next year. Concrete has been poured at what will be the largest themed resort pool on property, the highlight of an outdoor oasis that will include a large sandy play area. Guests will enjoy a wide variety of poolside activities that are expected to include sandcastle building, beanbag toss and much more.

Unlike the five-story LEGOLAND Hotel, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat features a village-style layout with 83 beach-themed bungalows offering 166 separate rooms, each with whimsical LEGO décor inside and out. The brightly colored bungalows are grouped into 13 sections, each named after a popular LEGO Minifigure including Shark Suit Guy, Ocean King and Sea Captain. Each centers around an outdoor play area with fun and challenging elements, all within view of the bungalows’ shaded patios, where parents can put their feet up, kick back and relax while kids play.

Conveniently located adjacent to the popular theme park, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat combines the fun of surf and sand with the creativity of LEGO building sets, and will offer picturesque views of Lake Dexter from nearly every sun-kissed corner.  All guests enjoy early access to the theme park, with exclusive use of some of the most popular attractions.

Reservations currently are available for stays from June 1 through Nov. 30, 2017.  To make a reservation at LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, visit www.LEGOLAND.com/florida. Room rates start at $135 and vary by season, date and availability.  Packages including theme park tickets are also available. Grand opening festivities and additional amenities will be announced at a later date.
