LEGO Constructed A Life-Sized Iron Man From Avengers: Endgame for San Diego Comic Con. The Statue showcases Tony Stark/Iron Man using the re-modeled Infinity Gauntlet from Avengers: Endgame.
According to a report from TheHollywoodReporter (THR), “The six-and-a-half foot statue, which weighs 188 pounds, consists of 35,119 bricks and took Lego Master Builders 225 hours to design and build.”
The team of Lego Master Builders finished the life-sized statue in time to be revealed for San Diego Comic Con this weekend (July 18-July 22, 2019). Marvel Fans will be able to see the statue first hand on the floor of the convention. So be sure to check your convention maps and have your cameras ready for this fantastic lego sculpture!
The nano-tech lego suit of armor from Avengers: Endgame is even decked out with working light features inside the chest, arm, and gauntlet of the statue! How cool is that!
Iron Man is far from being the first Marvel themed Lego Statue found at popular conventions. Other Marvel characters who have been turned into statues for such events are: The Hulk, Captain Marvel, Thor, Captain America, Thanos, Rocket and Groot, Wolverine, Spider-man, and more.
The inspiration for this years statue comes from the final battle scenes of Avengers: Endgame after a rousing game of hot potato with the new Infinity Gauntlet ends with Tony Stark proclaiming “I am Iron Man.” and snapping back the fallen and destroying Thanos and his armies in what is now being referred to as “The Blip” in the MCU.
