Remaining DeSantis Appointees Fully Cleared From Disney World Oversight Board
The last remaining members of the original Central Florida Tourism Oversight District board appointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in 2023 have officially been removed. An updated roster on the district’s website now shows a completely refreshed five-member board, marking the end of the original group that was installed during the state’s takeover of Disney’s former Reedy Creek Improvement District.

As of this week, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District board is made up of Alexis Yarbrough as chair, along with David Woods, Matt Ravenscroft, John Gilbert, and Scott Workman. Bridget Ziegler and Brian Aungst Jr., who were still listed as board members just one week ago, are no longer included. Their removal closes the chapter on the final two members who were part of the original 2023 DeSantis-appointed board. Woods and Ravenscroft are the newest additions, both appointed by the governor on January 14, 2026.

While the original appointees are now fully gone, the board itself remains firmly under gubernatorial appointment. The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District was created in 2023 to replace Disney’s long-standing Reedy Creek Improvement District and now governs the land that includes Walt Disney World Resort. The board has authority over major operational decisions, including infrastructure, budgeting, and public services, and released its long-term 2045 Comprehensive Plan in June 2025, which notably addresses the potential for a future fifth gate at Walt Disney World. With a fully restructured board now in place, attention will likely remain on how these leadership changes shape the district’s long-term vision for Disney World’s development.
