Disney Destiny Sets Sail on Maiden Voyage November 20, 2025

The highly anticipated Disney Destiny, Disney Cruise Line’s newest addition, is preparing to embark on its maiden voyage this November! The ship will set sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, beginning an exciting inaugural season of 4- and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and the Caribbean. This heroes and villains-themed vessel promises to bring Disney magic to the high seas like never before.

A Milestone in the Making

The Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering teams, in collaboration with the skilled crew at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, have made incredible strides in bringing the Disney Destiny to life. In late 2024, the final blocks of the ship—massive sections that make up its structure—were put in place. With this milestone, the Destiny’s exterior is now fully complete, marking a major achievement in the ship’s construction.

Now, the focus has shifted to the interior, where the ship is being outfitted with all the magical details that will transport guests into the worlds of Disney’s greatest heroes and most notorious villains.

Behind-the-Scenes Progress

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Disney Cruise Line shared a time-lapse video on Instagram showcasing the incredible process of block installation. The footage not only highlights the meticulous craftsmanship involved but also offers a glimpse of how the Disney Destiny was built alongside the Disney Treasure, another spectacular ship in the making.
