This Spring Disney guests that will be visiting the 2013 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will get to experience an original interactive play area that is being called “the Land of Oz” and will be one of the newest additions!
The movie “Oz The Great and Powerful” will be released in theaters in early March and will be branded in several fun ways within Walt Disney World this Spring. To gather more information for those of us that are not so familiar with the story, here is what I found from Wikipedia:
When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot, with fame and fortune his for the taking… that is, until he meets the witches Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz), and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is really evil before it is too late. Putting his “magical” arts to use through illusion, ingenuity, and even a bit of wizardry, Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
The Oz area at Epcot’s International Flower & Garden will be a unique circus-themed space that will offer carnival-style midway games and a “Land of Oz Play Area”. In the play area there will also be the crashed hot-air balloon. Park guests will also be able to wander through the “Oz Movie Garden,” which will feature unique plants inspired by the movie.
