Customers and employees at indoor nightlife establishments like nightclubs and indoor bars will be required to have the first dose of the vaccine by October 7 and the second by November 4. County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer said vaccine verification will be strongly recommended for indoor portions of restaurants.
The health order will also update the restrictions on outdoor mega-events. Now, along with requiring guests to wear masks, all attendees, employees and participants at outdoor mega-events will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event.

“This modified health officer order aligns with the continued need to reduce risk of transmission and increase vaccination coverage,” Ferrer said. “This is a reasonable path forward that will position us to be better able to break the cycle of surges.”

Ferrer also said that theme parks will be included in this health order. Theme parks in LA County include Universal Studios Hollywood and Six Flags.
