Get ready for an adventure! Disney’s “Key to Disneyland” offers a special journey during the 70th Anniversary Celebration where you’ll unlock magical surprises and receive a commemorative keepsake. Your quest begins by purchasing a light-up souvenir key, which secretly holds one of nine collectible pins. To reveal your pin, you’ll need to explore Disneyland Park and successfully unlock the magic within each land.

The plastic key features a handle shaped like a large white and blue Disneyland “D.” Its central section displays multicolored icons representing Disneyland Park’s lands, illuminated by lights. The key’s tip showcases a silhouette of Sleeping Beauty Castle, and the Disneyland 70 logo is printed near the handle. Once activated, white lights along the sides gently pulse.

To engage in the “Key to Disneyland” experience, participants must locate nine distinct lock stations, one in each land of Disneyland Park. Upon finding a station, inserting the key triggers a unique sound and a sequence of flashing lights specific to that location.

The locations can be found here:

  • Disneyland Fire Station on Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Aladdin’s Lamp inside Adventureland Bazaar in Adventureland
  • New Orleans Square
  • Outside of Pooh Corner in Bayou Country
  • Across from Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
  • Wilderness Expeditions and Delivery Service Wagon in Frontierland
  • Across from Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin in Mickey’s Toontown
  • Fantasy Faire in Fantasyland
  • Near the exit of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters in Tomorrowland

The grand finale of the “Key to Disneyland” adventure awaits guests back at the Mickey Topiary Finale lock station by the park entrance, after they’ve successfully located and interacted with all nine land-specific stations. Inserting the key into this final lock unlocks a miniature celebration, with playful bubbles rising from the topiary and lights dancing along the key. As a final reward, a compartment within the key’s handle will spring open, revealing one of nine special commemorative pins.

During the preview, all nine of these delightful pins were on display. Each pin takes the form of a blue Disneyland “D” adorned with classic black mouse ears. Below, a charming icon representing a different Disneyland land is featured, echoing the designs on the interactive key. These icons include beloved park elements like the Partners statue, a Haunted Mansion gargoyle, Pooh’s “Hunny” pot, Space Mountain, a Jungle Cruise boat, Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Millennium Falcon, Mickey’s House, and the iconic Mark Twain Riverboat.

Disney has stated that the commemorative pins obtained through the “Key to Disneyland” experience will be exclusive to participants and not sold separately. This interactive experience will be available only during the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration, beginning on May 16th. Importantly, the key will retain individual guest progress, allowing the experience to be completed across multiple park visits.
