Katee Sackhoff Rumored To Be Cast as Bo-Katan Kryze in Season 2 of 'The Mandalorian'

Katee Sackhoff Rumored To Be Cast as Bo-Katan Kryze in Season 2 of ‘The Mandalorian‘. Season 2 of The Mandalorian is gaining more and more steam as new characters and actors are being tied to the project underway at Lucasfilm. The mega-popular Star Wars live-action series has been a hit since Episode 1 and fans are clamoring for more news on the series every day.

It appears characters from animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels will be making their live-action debut in season 2 of The Mandalorian. Lucasfilm and Disney have yet to confirm any of the casting rumors, but the news has been coming from multiple sources close to production and they suspect the studios are waiting to announce the castings much closer to the scheduled release of the new season this fall.

The most recent rumor swirling around is the casting of Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze. “A gifted warrior, Bo-Katan Kryze is a legendary Mandalorian. She refused to align with the Empire’s occupation of Mandalore, and now wields the Darksaber as the leader of the Mandalorian resistance.”

Her presence in the series makes complete sense, especially after the reveal of Moff Gideon with the Darksaber at the end of Season 1. Likely, Bo-Katan is looking to get the weapon back from the villainous Gideon and may be another tie to Din Djarin, aka “Mando”.

Other characters expected to make an appearance in the new season include: Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), Boba Fett and Captain Rex (both played by Temuera Morrison), and Sabine Wren (casting unknown). Likely, more casting choices will be announced officially closer to the release of Season 2 or following various Star Wars celebration events scheduled later in 2020.

Season 2 of The Mandalorian is still on schedule to release in October 2020 exclusively on Disney+.
