Karen Gillan Teases That Nebula's Story is "Just Beginning" in the MCU

Karen Gillan Teases That Nebula’s Story is “Just Beginning” in the MCU. Marvel Actress Karen Gillan recently sat down with Fandom to discuss her role as Nebula in the MCU and where she see’s the character going after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Gillan truly feels Nebula’s story has just begun and there is so much more to explore.

“I don’t feel like her story is over at all,” Gillan told Fandom. “If anything, I feel like her story might just be beginning. We found her in a really broken, vulnerable place and over the course of the movies, she’s had to face the source of all of her abuse. She’s just had this huge, cathartic experience and the source of the abuse has been eliminated, so what happens next? That’s something that I think is incredibly interesting. The healing can start but that’s not going to be easy and it’s not going to be immediate either.”

“I can’t wait to kind of channel that into Nebula but also have fun with her at the same time,” Karen shared. “I feel like we’re really going to start to define who she is without Thanos looming over her.”

According to Guardians of the Galaxy actor, Vin Diesel some of the Guardians are set to appear in Thor: Love and Thunder, and it is quite possible that Nebula will be among the crew on The Milano (Peter Quill’s ship in the films).

“I am waiting and excited for my friend James Gunn to knock [Guardians of the Galaxy 3] out of the park,” Diesel said during an interview to promote his upcoming film, Bloodshot. “He took The Suicide Squad so he’s about to embark on it. Thor will also, the director talked to me about Thor [Love and Thunder] will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy.” Vin Diesel immediately caught his slip and played it off with, “That’ll be very interesting, nobody knows, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”

It is currently unknown which of the Guardians will appear in the film, or how much of the characters we will get to see, since the premise for the film will likely take focus on Jane Foster becoming Lady Thor. Disney and Marvel have yet to comment or confirm these rumors by Diesel.

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Nebula as her story begins to unfold now that Thanos and the regime she was lead to live under is gone. The character growth will be worth the watch as she helps the Guardians find her sister, Gamora, who is also on a journey of self-discovery and escaped during the final battle in Avengers: Endgame.
