Disney’s Animal Kingdom will temporarily close its popular Kali River Rapids attraction for refurbishment in January 2025.

Kali River Rapids will temporarily close on January 6, 2025, for its annual refurbishment. The ride will be closed through at least February 8th, according to the official Walt Disney World website.

Kali River Refurbishment

In 2024, Kali River Rapids closed for its annual refurbishment on January 8th and reopened on March 15th. In 2023, the ride closed on January 9th and reopened on February 26th.


Kali River Rapids, located in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, is a thrilling water ride that takes guests on a high-speed journey through lush vegetation and a 20-foot drop. Be prepared to get wet!

Be sure to get a final ride in before the attraction closes for refurbishment!
