Kali River Rapids! Reopens at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

Close your eyes and imagine this with me. You’re at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, surrounded by your loved ones, and it’s hot. I mean really hot, and not the dry kind of hot, but the kind where the humidity drenches you instantly when you walk outside. Now, you walk towards Asia and look up to find the greatest news! Kali River Rapids! is open again! Time to cool off. The white water adventure awaits your arrival.

Kali River Rapids! recently opened from it’s planned refurbishment in January 2019. Closing during January is typically when Walt Disney World does so since not many people enjoy the water rides during the colder months! They also do this for the water parks each year to update/refurbish anything needed.

As you can see, the ride is very clear about what will happen while you are aboard the 12-person raft. It is a whitewater raft ride down the Chakrandi River in India, where you begin headed down the river, passing temple ruins and Indian countryside. Kali Rapids Expeditions guides your tour through a canopy of trees and nearby waterfalls, before plunging down a 20-foot decline – splashing down at the bottom.  “You WILL get wet! YOU MAY GET SOAKED!” The ride is accommodating for children and adults 38″ and taller.

Be sure and lock up your belongings, as lockers for mobile devices and other items you want to stay dry are located across from the entrance to Kali River Rapids and are available during your ride (on a first-come, first-served basis). Kali River Rapids! is also available to be pre-booked with a FastPass+ in advance, based on availability.
