Josh Gad Shares Update on the ‘Hunchback of Notre Dame‘ Live-Action Remake. Nearly two years ago it was announced that a live-action Hunchback of Notre Dame remake was in development at Disney producer Josh Gad has shared a new update!
A fan reached out to Gad via Twitter suggesting actress Hiba Abouk get her shot at the role of Esmeralda and asking for an update. Gad shared, “Getting. Closer. And. Closer.”

Gad is currently busy with production of the live-action Beauty and the Beast Disney+ Original Series, The Little Town, as well as the new “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” sequel, Shrunk! co-starring alongside Rick Moranis.
