Could Josh D’Amaro be Disney’s next CEO?
Sources close to The Hollywood Reporter are suggesting that Josh D’Amaro, Disney Experiences Chairman, is in a prime position to be the company’s next CEO.

Josh D’Amaro, currently the Chairman of Disney Experiences, is widely considered a leading candidate to become the next CEO of The Walt Disney Company. With a career spanning over 26 years at Disney, D’Amaro has held numerous leadership roles across the company, both domestically and internationally. His extensive background includes serving as President of both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, demonstrating his deep understanding of the parks and guest experience.
As Chairman of Disney Experiences since 2020, D’Amaro oversees a vast portfolio that includes 12 theme parks worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Adventures by Disney, and Disney Consumer Products. He is also responsible for Walt Disney Imagineering and the company’s digital games and apps business, including a collaboration with Epic Games. His leadership in this segment has been marked by significant growth, with a focus on creating groundbreaking experiences through a planned 10-year, $60 billion investment in new attractions, lands, hotels, and technology.
While D’Amaro’s experience in the parks sector is robust, some speculate that the board might favor a candidate with a broader background in content, distribution, and global sales, with figures like Dana Walden also being considered strong contenders. Bob Iger’s contract as CEO is set to end in December 2026, and the company is actively working through the succession process. D’Amaro’s participation in investor conferences, a role previously held by Iger, suggests he is being positioned as a key leader within the company’s future plans.
