If there is anything that could possibly be more magical than Christmas, it’s Disneyland at Christmas! The sights, sounds, and flavors of the season all come together here to create unforgettable Holiday memories. Come with me on a photo tour of the best of Disneyland at Christmas and get into the spirit of the season!
We will start our tour on Main Street! The garland is hung and the lights are twinkling on Main Street USA! Christmas on Main Street harkens back to simpler times where communities gathered to celebrate together. The centerpiece of this is the tower 60 foot Christmas Tree! It is a perfect place to savor the magic of the season.
While we are on Main Street, let’s take in the parade! The Christmas Fantasy parade makes it’s way down Main Street daily during the Christmas Season and brings the whimsy and magic of Christmas to life.
Our next stop is a visit to Santa! Meeting Santa is special in and of itself but meeting the Big Guy at Disneyland is a priceless memory. Disney magic creates an absolute wonderland for this festive meet and greet and you’ll feel like you were really at the North Pole.
Head on over to the Haunted Mansion were Halloween and Christmas collide resulting in the parks famous Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. See all the spooky chills as Jack and Sally discover the magic of Christmas.
But we can’t promise that in this classic ride that “absolutely no one’s dead”
Our tour next takes us to it’s a small world where 50,000 lights decorate the rides show building. An additional 350,000 lights adorn the shrubs, topiaries, and, trees. Inside the ride Christmas and other holidays around the world are celebrated bringing the message of the ride to life “though we are unique, we not that different.”
On our way out of the park, let’s make a quick stop back on Main Street to listen to the Dapper Dans. During the Holiday season, they don festive outfits and sing festive favorites.
Let’s go over to Disney California Adventure and get our kicks on Route 66 in Radiator Springs. Cars Land is all dolled up for the season with garland, bows and…hubcaps? We wouldn’t expect anything else from our favorite autos.
Next, why don’t we take in the festival of Holidays? The ¡Viva Navidad! Street party is going on and the atmosphere is so fun and festive! Listen to Mariachi and Samba music, see giant mojiganga puppets and folk dancers make their way through the park in a fantastic celebration of Mexican culture and their unique Christmas traditions. Be sure to check out the Three Caballeros playing their music and waving to their fans in their holiday best!
I don’t know about you, but all this fun has made me hungry! At the Festival of Holidays, you’ll find unique international treats as well as mashups of traditional comfort foods with an international flair. One of our favorites is the Turkey and Dressing Tamale, topped with Cranberry Sauce! Also be sure not to miss this gorgeous (and delicious Peppermint Churro!)
Rounding out our day, let’s stop and appreciate the beautiful details at California adventure. We are simply in awe of this massive tree all lit up and twinkling.
Our final stop of the day is back over in Disneyland Park for the magical lighting of Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle and to take in Believe in Holiday Magic- the fantastic Christmas fireworks!
