Johnny Depp Says He's Never Seen ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl’

In a surprising moment during Johhny Depp’s courtroom testimony, the actor claims he’s never watched any of the Pirates of the Caribbean films!

According to Metro UK, Johnny Depp was questioned about his career in court. He spoke briefly about his Hollywood career and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Despite being nominated for Best Actor in Curse of the Black Pearl, he’s never watched the first film in the franchise.

“I didn’t see it. But I believe that the film did pretty well, apparently, and they wanted to keep going, making more, and I was fine to do that.”

His admission comes after Jared Leto’s recent claims that he hasn’t seen one of his own movies in over 22 years. Depp, of course, has previously gone on record about his dislike of watching his movies. He joins the likes of Meryl Streep and Joaquin Phoenix who admit a similar attitude towards their respective films.

Furthermore, Johnny Depp officially states he will never return as Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Depp’s recent comments came from his cross-examination during the defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.

In the courtroom, cross-examiner Ben Rottenborn asked:

“The fact is, Mr. Depp, if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film? Correct?”

“That is true,” replied Depp.

Summary of Prior Events

To sum up years worth of legal issues, after Depp and Heard’s divorce, The Sun ran an article claiming Depp to be a ‘wife-beater” and helping Heard’s career by allowing her to claim victimhood due to their tremulous relationship. Heard later went on the write an Op-Ed Article with The Washington Post besmirching Depp’s name and making accusatory claims against the actor further tarnishing his career and causing him to be dropped from several large franchise opportunities including Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts.
