Johnny Depp’s team responded to a report claiming the actor is set to return to Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
The June 27 report claimed Disney was “very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp” and that the studio was “very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character.”
The rumor states that Depp is set to return to his most iconic role, as Captain Jack Sparrow, for no less than $301 million dollars. The rumor also hinted that a Disney Plus series might be in the works, that would explore the early years of Jack Sparrow.

However, Johhny Depp’s representative has now put those rumors to rest with four words: “This is made up.”
Unfortunately, the actor is not working on a new deal to return to the swashbuckling adventure franchise.
Back in May, Pirates producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who is now working on two more films, was asked if Depp would be back for future projects. “Not at this point,” he told The Sunday Times. “The future is yet to be decided.”
Depp has been a part of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise since the first installment. He’s played Captain Jack Sparrow in all five movies, the latest one being the 2017 film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
