John Stamos Cast in ‘Big Shot’ a New Series Coming Soon to Disney+. John Stamos has been cast as the lead role in the new Disney+ original series, “Big Shot.” The 10-episode series follows a temperamental college basketball coach (Stamos) who gets fired from his job and must take a teaching and coaching job at an elite all-girls private high school.

Launching on November 12, 2019, Disney+ will be the dedicated streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more, together, for the first time. From The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International segment, Disney+ will offer ad-free programming with a variety of original feature-length films, documentaries, live-action and animated series and short-form content.
Stamos is a huge fan of Disney, having narrated The Candlelight Processional at Epcot on multiple occasions and frequently visiting the Disney Parks around the world. It comes as no surprise the “Full House” star has begun working more with the house of mouse. John will also be starring in ABC’s The Little Mermaid Live! as the eccentric French chef, Chef Louis. The Little Mermaid Live! premieres Tuesday, November 5th at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
Big Shot is written and executive produced by David E. Kelley and Dean Lorey and produced by ABC Studios, a part of Disney Television Studios. Brad Garrett (“Single Parents”), who pitched the original idea to Kelley, is an executive producer on the one-hour dramedy, as is Bill D’Elia who will direct the first episode.
