Jeopardy! Host, Alex Trebek, Dies at 80 from Cancer. Today, November 8, 2020, longtime Jeopardy host, Alex Trebek, passed away in his home surrounded by friends and family. Alex Trebek had shared his diagnosis in a shocking clip on Jeopardy! in 2019, stating that he had Stage IV pancreatic cancer. Trebek hosted the iconic quiz show from 1984-2020. News of his passing was shared by the official Jeopardy! Facebook Page along with the caption, “‘Jeopardy!’ is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends.”
