Jeff Vahle Details the Rationale Behind DinoLand U.S.A. and Muppets Courtyard’s Transformation
In a statement to Orlando Magazine, Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle explained the reasoning behind closing popular attractions to make way for new offerings, asserting that Muppets Courtyard and Dinorama were “underutilized areas.”

“In the past year, we have broken ground on major expansions in three of our theme parks,” “We are building Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Tropical Americas in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Villains and Cars themed areas in Magic Kingdom.”

Vahle first joined The Walt Disney Company in 1990. Before his current role, he held numerous leadership positions, including heading Disney Signature Experiences and Facilities and Operations Services for Disney theme parks globally, as well as leadership roles for international destinations such like Disney California Adventure, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort.
Coming in second on the ranking was Karen Irwin, President and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, recognized for overseeing the launch of Universal Epic Universe, which is Orlando’s first new theme park in 26 years. Also featured in the top 10 were Captain John W. Murray, CEO of the Canaveral Port Authority, and Patrick Goddard, President of Brightline.
