Jeff Bridges Returning as Kevin Flynn in ‘Tron: Ares’

Get ready to return to the Grid! Tron is back on the big screen, and this time, Jeff Bridges is reprising his iconic role.

Bridges confirmed his return as Kevin Flynn on the Film Comment podcast, expressing his excitement to work alongside fellow star Jared Leto.

Disney echoed the news with an Instagram post, simply stating: “Jeff Bridges returns to the grid.”

Bridges, who played Flynn in both “Tron” and “Tron: Legacy,” joins an impressive cast that includes Leto as Ares (a program sent on a perilous mission from the digital world), Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, and Gillian Anderson.

“Tron: Ares” is being helmed by director Joachim Rønning (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”). The script comes from the pens of Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne, while a team including Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Leto, and others serve as producers.

Filming kicked off in Vancouver back in January, with a first look at Leto’s character already unveiled on Disney’s Instagram.

Mark your calendars, Tron fans – “Tron: Ares” is gearing up for a digital adventure!
