James Gunn Confirms ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘ Script is Complete. So if you have been following along with the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 development there has been a lot of drama, delays, and change, but one constant has been the script for the film. Even before we learned director and writer James Gunn had been rehired for the film it was clearly stated that Marvel Studios intended to continue with Gunn’s script regardless of his further involvement.

Luckily, the Studio listened to the fans and the cast of the beloved Marvel franchise and Gunn is back on board to direct! James Gunn is also known to host Q+A’s with fans via Twitter to help grow the anticipation and recently confirmed some rumors about the scripts completion. Gunn confirmed the script was completed for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and also added an update regarding the production team for the film in a new Q+A tweet reply posting, “Script is written and most of the production heads have been hired.”

Though an official premise for the film has yet to be shared, Gunn has told fans to expect a deeper dive into Rocket Raccoon’s story in the final film of the Guardians Trilogy. We also know this film will be Gunn’s last with Marvel Studios and likely the end of Guardians focused films as they team up with other heroes to face new challenges in the MCU. An official date has yet to be announced for the films premiere, but it is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2022.
