Is a New Resort Coming to Fort Wilderness at Disney World? is reporting that per permits filed, a major construction project is planned for Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort at Disney World.

Currently, the project is titled “Project 89.” The permits point to “geotechnical borings” coming to Fort Wilderness. These are usually done prior to the beginning of a major construction project to explore the appropriateness of the land.

Nothing has been confirmed or announced by Disney but by the location of the borings, it appears that maybe a new resort will be built on this land at Fort Wilderness. For your perspective, the borings are located on both sides of the the old River Country Water Park. River Country still sits in pretty much the same state as when it closed in 2001.
