Did you hear that there was an IRS Conference at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California in 2010? Well, the IRS official at the center of the IRS conference at Disneyland announced that he doesn’t believe the lavish conference was wrong.
The 2010 IRS conference at Disneyland Resort cost taxpayers $4.1 million. Faris Fink testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee last week. Fink, the Small Business and Self-Employed Division Commissioner, was pressed by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) if he felt that it was wrong of the agency to hold the conference.
“I don’t think the conference itself was wrong,” Fink stated. He also said that he and other officials should have been “more diligent in our responsibilities to the American taxpayer.” He continued by explaining that they should have paid “closer watch to our expenditures,” but he believes that the purpose of their conference was justified.
