If you haven’t sailed through “it’s a small world” lately, here’s what you need to know. Conceived for the 1964 New York World’s Fair and later replicated at Disneyland Park, “it’s a small world” was among the opening day attractions at Magic Kingdom. It takes guests on a whimsical journey around the globe, highlighting a universal message of harmony. The attraction’s bright and childlike visuals were heavily influenced by Disney artist Mary Blair, and the iconic theme song is the work of the legendary Sherman Brothers.

Over the years, several of the ride’s animatronic dolls have required periodic maintenance. Fans have watched as different figures disappeared for refurbishment and reappeared over time, sometimes with new paint or improved movements. Now that the classic skater is back, be sure to keep an eye out for her during your next cruise through the attraction!
