'How I Met Your Father' Has Begun Filming for Hulu

‘How I Met Your Father’ Has Begun Filming for Hulu. Production is currently underway for the How I Met Your Father spin-off series, How I Met Your Father. The filming announcement was shared by the HIMYM and Hulu social media accounts, with HIMYM sharing photos on set along with the caption, “It’s going to be legen— wait for it —dary! Filming for How I Met Your Father (HIMYF On Hulu) starts now. #HIMYF is coming soon to Hulu.”

The series synopsis reads: “Set in the near future, the show will follow Sophie (Duff) telling her son the story of how she met his father back in the year 2021, when Sophie and her close-knit group of friends were figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.”

The series stars Hilary Duff as our protagonist Sophie who is sharing the story about meeting her son’s father while dating in the early 2020s. Veronica Mars and GLOW alum Chris Lowell as Jesse, an aspiring musician who works as an Uber driver. Francia Raisa plays Sophie’s roommate, Valentina, who serves as the group’s adventurous spirit. Tom Ainsley plays Charlie, a model and son of British aristocrats who followed Valentina back to New York City after falling in love with her during London Fashion Week. Tien Tran plays Jesse’s adopted sister, Ellen, who just moved to New York after separating from her wife. Suraj Sharma rounds out the cast as Sid, Jesse’s roommate and best friend.

Joining the cast in recurring roles are Josh Peck playing the role of Drew, the handsome Vice Principal of Sophie’s friend, Jesse’s, elementary school, and Ashley Reyes as Hannah, a surgical resident in a long-distance relationship with one of Sophie’s friends.

Currently, 20th Television has ordered 10-episodes for the series, but pending the success of the show, there is a good chance several new seasons will be picked up at a later date.
