When you think of Fort Wilderness Campground you will initially think of campsites, horseback rides and the adorable Fort Wilderness Cabins. Did you know that this is also the location for the most humorous, and quite popular, dinner show on Walt Disney World Resort property? The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Dinner Show is Foot-stompin’ fun for everyone!
The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is located in Pioneer Hall at the area commonly called “The Settlement.” If you are driving you will need to park in the main parking lot and take a bus. You can take any of the busses to this location as they all stop here. You could also choose to take a boat if you happen to be at the Magic Kingdom, The Wilderness Lodge, The Contemporary, The Grand Floridian or Polynesian Village.
The fun begins before you even enter the building. Two Cast Members will come outdoors with a barrel on wheels. Yes, you read that correctly. This barrel is actually the check-in podium so mosey on over when you see it appear about 15 minutes prior to your dinner show time.
Once you enter the building, you will be escorted to your assigned table.
The table is set with some cowboy trail-style plates complete with a red and white checked napkin. The rustic theme is apparent throughout the show and the meal as well.
The meal itself is served family style and your Server will bring more of anything you need. Our salad was your typical Romaine mix with cucumber, grape tomatoes, creamy dressing and shredded cheese on top. The Cornbread was lightly sweet and was one of our favorite selections from this meal. We found the ribs to be a bit tough and slightly bland on flavor. We enjoyed the Fried Chicken as it was quite good and had a nice juicy flavor to it. In fact, the chicken was so juicy that when our Server slammed the bucket of chicken onto our table, a chicken breast jumped out of the bucket and landed on the floor! We all had a good laugh about that. The mashed potatoes were good with small bits of potato chunks as opposed to being completely smooth. We loved the corn with butter and this was one of our favorite parts of the meal as the corn tasted fresh and buttery. The Cowboy Beans are made with a tomato base. Our group of adventurers are all from New England and our palate’s are more attuned to Boston Baked Beans, however the Cowboy Beans were pretty good. The dessert is a lovely Strawberry Shortcake. Presentation is half the fun and we were not disappointed with this dessert. The cake itself was an airy dough with a crunchy outer layer. The strawberries were vaguely disappointing as they tasted frozen but the combination of whipped cream, shortcake and strawberries made for a nice dessert.
The Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue Show is loaded with silly humor, music and dancing. The Pioneer Hall Players will have you laughing and singing along as part of the show. The show itself involves some audience participation that adds to the fun as well.
Have you every played the Washboard before? If not, then you will certainly have the opportunity at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. This was our favorite part of the experience as guests grabbed a spoon and started to light up the entirety of Pioneer Hall with the sound of Washboards playing along to the Hoop-Dee-Doo theme song. The Washboard playing created an atmosphere for Foot-Stompin’ for everyone!

Overall, we enjoyed the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Dinner and Show. Our favorite food picks of the evening were the Cornbread, Fried Chicken and Corn. While the food is not necessarily the highlight of the evening you will not leave hungry by any means. If you have the Disney Dining Plan, this dinner show will cost 2 table service credits per person. Reservations are required, however we arrived for the 4:00pm dinner show and there were still tables available.
The show itself is all in good humor with our favorite part being the Washboard segment. I have not experienced this show since 2010. While I knew the original theme song changed due to copyright in 2011, it was still a little disappointing to experience it with the current theme song after having experienced the original. Other than that, be prepared for some Foot Stompin’ fun for everyone in your party at your Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Dinner Show.
