Disney Rebooting Fox Titles such as ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Night at the Museum‘ for Disney+. According to THR, Disney is looking to reboot popular franchises from Fox for their new streaming service, Disney+.
Disney CEO Bob Iger says the titles that will be rebooted from the Disney-Fox merger include: Home Alone, Night at the Museum, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Cheaper by the Dozen. “We’re also focused on leveraging Fox’s vast library of great titles to further enrich the content mix on our [direct to consumer] platforms [Disney+],” says Iger.
Disney is still navigating how they plan on approaching the content acquired in the Disney-Fox merger, but this is one of the first times specific titles have been mentioned. It is currently unknown if Disney will reboot the films as feature length films or if they will be converted into series with cinematic style episodes. Disney+ will included over 300 hours of content from Fox when it launches November 12th, with more on the way at a later date.
